Some more thoughts on this blog

May be a few years back I think it was Pradeep Kishore Gowda , who suggested me to start blogging. I was at that time, earning, small but significant remuneration editing a magazine, and I told him, that I am doing enough of writing, and I did not want to write any more.

Many of my friends did try convincing me to start blogging, and I had several false starts, though they were promising according to some. Though there are lots to share with others, my lethargy forbid me most of the time to chronicle either my personal or professional life.

Life is sort of come a full circle for me. I used to abhor technology, detest computers during college days. Today I am full of it, that a college friend expressed surprise from whatever I have learned in the last few years.

Till around 2004 or so, I was purely interested in the business of technology. Today it’s more technology of business.

When I go through the portfolio at www.diqtech.com I see about 25 web sites listed there, where my team or me has been involved. There must be another 25 web apps, which I have build where because of strict sub contract guidelines, we cannot claim ownership. Apart from those there are another 10 to 15 non-web applications, where I have played a significant role. That makes the number of tech projects that I’ve been involved to around 65. If you discount, half of these as smaller projects, such as static web sites or PHP based sites (which apart from some mentoring, and may be a bit of project management, I certainly cannot claim any role), there are thirty odd applications where I have played a significant role. Of course most of them are or were less than three man month projects. Yet, I feel that it is time, I recognized myself as a developer.

Hence in this blog, I’ll be sharing some of my professional experiences as a technology consultant. I’ll also try sharing some of the interesting experiences, since I meet a lot of interesting people, in my other role as technology journalists.

There might be also several politically incorrect stuff that I might be doling out, which cannot go into the esteemed rags I write for. So watch out….
